flank, re. The fleshy part of an animal's side between the ribs and hip; see Beef, House. {Mil.) The side of an army: the extreme right or left. {Fort.) That part of a bastion which reaches from the curtain to the face, and defends the opposite face: see Bastion. {Arch.) The side of a building. — v. t.
