extirpation, extirp a cion

The act of extirpating, rooting out, eradicating, exterminating; extermination, eradication, excision. 2. The state of being extirpated, rooted out, or eradicated; total destruction or extermination. ěx'-tir-pā-tör, s . [Eng. extirp ; -er.] One who ex tirpates; an extirpator. *ex-ti-spi-cio us, a. [Lat. extispicium =an inspection of entrails for purposes of augury: ext a = the entrails, and specio =to look at.] Relating or pertaining to the inspection of entrails for purposes of augury; augurial. ěx-tol', v. t. [Eng. extorsive ; -ly.] In an extorsive or extortionate manner; with extortion.
