Heracleum

( Bot.) A genus of plants, order Apiaceæ, distinguished by a calyx limb of 5 small, acute teeth; petals obcordate; fruit compre ed, flat, with a broad, flat margin; seeds flat. They are stout herbs, with large umbels. The only noticeable species is H. sphondylium, the Cow-parsnip.
