This State gave rise to the dynasty of same name, divided into two branches in 1255, the elder remaining dukes of Na au, while the cadet line founded the house of Orange-Na au, now represented by the King of the Netherlands. N. was annexed to Pru ia in 1866, and has since formed a division of the p. He e-Na au, q. v. Nas's au, in the W. Indies. See BAHAMA ISLANDS.
