tuffcone (tufkon)

A conical elevation made up of ashes or other fragmentary eruptive material accumulated around a volcanic orifice. The materials of a tuff - cone are arranged in more or le regularly stratified beds. Geikie , Text-Book of Geol. (2d ed.), p. 227.
