CUSHING, FRANK HAMILTON

(1857-1900), American ethnologist; 6.. Northeast, Pa. He was only 19 he was appointed curator of the no logical exhibit at the Exposition. He headed archeological expeditions to Arizona in 1881 Florida in 1895. He became with the United States Bureau Ethnology in 1897. He was an on the Zuni Indians, among whom lived for a considerable time. publications include My Adventures Zuni, 1883; Manual Concepts, Zuni Breadstuff, 1885; and Report the Ancient Key Dwellers of 1896. (1842-74), Amer. naval commander, won great distinction in Civil War gallant service. His most brilliant daring exploit was the blowing the Confederate ironclad Albermarle, while at anchor at Plymouth, Carolina, in 1864.
