Giovanni da Pisa, 1240-1320

Son of Nicolo; architect and sculptor. His chief works are at Pisa and Naples. A Slave Boat at Girgeh. formerly of great importance. It is situated ab. 110 m. s. of Thebes on the left bank of the Nile, into which it is rapidly disappearing. Pop., 1891, 14,819.
