Having properties the opposite of those of acids. An acid capable of uniting with a single monad atom or radical is called monobasic. One that will unite with two monad or one dyad atom or radical, etc., is said to be dibasic. This measure of the power of an acid is called its basicity. B. Blue. Same as Spirit Blue.
