[Gr. engkephalos = within the head, and artos =bread.」 Bot.: A genus of Cycadacese. The species are called Caffre-bread, because the interior of the trunk and the ripe female cones contain a pith eaten by the Caffres. en-çě-phăl-ic, a. [Greek engkephalos [ENCEPHALA); Eng., ., suff. -ic.] Anat.: Pertaining to the Encephalon (q. v.).
