1662-1714. English commentator. His Exposition of O. and N. T., 1704–10, though of no critical value, was long popular, and was highly praised by White field, Doddridge, and Robert Hall. His father, PHILIP, 1631-1696, ejected as a Nonconformist 1662, gained posthumous fame by his Sermons and Remains.
