[= F. sternal, of a bony jointed rib answering to the costal cart i lage of a mammalian rib, reaching from the end of the pleurapophysis to the sternum or toward it, as distinguished from a vertebral rib, which is the pleurapophysis alone. See cuts under epipleura and interclavicle.
