n. Ru3m. Fr., rhum. Ger., R. An alcoholic liquor distilled from the residue obtained in the manufacture of cane sugar or mola es. It is colorle when fresh, but gathers a reddish-brown color from the cask. Average pure r contains from 50 to 60 per cent, of alcohol. [B, 270 (a, 38).] R.-blo om. See ROSACEA. [s. 421]
