[Gr. ἀγγεῖον (angeion) =(1) a ve el, (2) a blood-ve el; τείνω (teinō), fut. τενῶ (teno) = to stretch, strain, extend] straining the blood-ve els. (See below.) Lit. angeiotenic fever, s . A name of inflammatory fever. Pinel believed its seat to be in the organs of circulation. (Dr. Tweedie: Cyclo. of Pract. Med ., vol. ii., p. 162.)
