[PHRENITIS.] Mental Pathol.: Inflammation of the brain, or of its investing membranes. ( Quain.) phrě-ni-tis, s . [Gr., from phrēn =the mind.] 1. The delirium which so frequently arises in the course of, or toward the termination of, some diseases. 2. Inflammation of the parenchyma of the brain, or of the brain itself.
