(52° 1’ N., 4° 22’ E.), town, 8. Holland; noteworthy buildings, Prinsenhof (now museum; former residence of Counts of Orange and scere of a a ination of William the Silent, 1584); town hall; Old Church (XI. cent.); New Church (1381); birthplace of Grotius (1583); in XVII. and XVIII. cent’s D. was famous for pottery—‘Delft Ware,’ and the industry is now revived, the modern product being termed ‘New Delft.’ Pop. 1920, 39,539.
