Spruce'-beer

(-bēr.) (Drinks.) A beverage made by fermenting a mixture consisting of water, mola es, bruised pimento and ginger, and e ence of spruce; the last being prepared by boiling the young shoots of the Abies nigra, and concentrating the decoction by evaporation. [s. 849]
