(nu’rit, nu’rit). Any axis-cylinder Proce from a nerve-cell; a neuron. neuritic (nu-rit’ik). Pertaining to or affected with neuritis. neuritis (nu-ri’tis). Inflammation of a nerve. The condition is attended by pain and tenderne over the nerves, anesthesia,. disturbances of sensation, paralysis, wasting, and disappearance of the reflexes. adventitial n., that which affects the sheath of a nerve. alcoholic n., a form due to alcoholism. ascending n., that which progre es centrad or centripetally toward the brain or spinal cord. n., inflammation of the central part of a nerve. central., parenchymatous neuritis. degenerative n., neuritis in which there is degeneration of the proper nerve substance. descending n., that which progre es centrifugally or away from the brain and spinal cord. diabetic n., that which is a ociated with diabetes. diphtheric Ὥ., a form resulting from diphtheria. di eminated n., parenchymatous neuritis.
