[Gr. triaina =a trident; suff. -odon.] Ichthy.: A genus of Car char i ide, from the Indian Ocean. tri-se-nops, subst. [ Gr.triaina =a trident, and ops is outward appearance. Named from the shape of the nose-leaf.] Zool.: A genus of Phyllorhinine, with one species from Persia and another from East Africa. Noseleaf, horseshoe-shaped in front, tridentate behind; ears without a distinct antitragus, the outer margin of the ear-conch arising from the posteriors of the eyelids. tri-a-ken-I-ŭm, 8.
