[Named after Dr. Nooggerath, a German Physicist.] Palæont.: According to Brongniart, a genus of fo il Cycads, though other authorities refer it to the Ferns. It occurs first in the Coal Measures. No egger at hi a expansa , from the Permian, has pinnate leaves, with cuneiform leaflets, the venation of which resembles that of some Cycads; so has the Permian N. cunei folia. The genus has also been called Cordaites, Poacites, and Flabella ria.
