eryon

[Greek_eryōn=dragging along the ground, pr. par. of eryō .] Palæont .: A genus of macrurous Crustaceans found in the Lias and Oolite, being most abundant in the Solenhofen Slates, which are Middle Oolite. ě-rys-1-mum, s. [Lat.erysimum; Gr.erysimon =the hedge mustard.] Bot.: Treacle-mustard. A genus of Cruciferæ, family Sisymbride. The pod is four-sided, its valves one-nerved. There are generally two hypogynous glands opposite the placente and between the longer stamens. About seventy species are known.
