psycho statics (sikostatiks)

[Pl. of psy cho static (see see -ics).] The theory of the conditions of the phenomena of mind. To those who. have adopted the view that mind is only one of the forms of life, and that life is not an entity but an abstraction expre ing the generalities of organic phenomena, it is obvious that psychology must endeavour to ascertain the conditions of these phenomena, both general and special.
