Subdivision of the study of DYNAMICS (q.v.), which treats of the action of fluids in motion under impre ed forces; also called the mechanics of fluids. It concerns itself with flow of fluids through orifices, friction of fluids, impact of fluids, reaction, etc., and the motor machines using water as the source of power.
