Weather

A term in frequent use by Mariners, signifying towards or opposed to the wind; for instance „ Weather-bow ”, M Weather-side", „ Weather-quarter”; mean the bow, side or quarter against which the wind is blowing; „ Weather-shore ”, the land observed by a ve el at sea in the direction from whence the wind blows, etc.
