See embryonic c. embryonal c, embryonic c. Syn.: elementary c.j formative c, primary c, primitive c, primordial c. i. One of the c's which arise from the division of the ovum; a term especially employed when the proce of segmentation has advanced so far that the c's are very small. These c's are so called because they give rise to the various ti ues and organs of the embryo, embryo plastic c's. Syn.: embryo plastic bodies, fibro plastic bodies (or c's). C's originally from the mesoblast which are at first similar to lymph corpuscles. They become fusiform or stellate, and in developing connective ti ue form the so-called fixed connective ti ue corpuscles. enamel c. Syn.: enamel body, adamant oblast. One of the columnar c's forming the layer of the enamel organ next the dentin papilla, endogenous c. formation, endogenous c.
