saccharite

[Lat.sacchar( um )=sugar; suff. -ite ( Min .).] Min .: A granular ma ive variety of Andesite (q. v.), according to Dana; but by some mineralogists it is referred to Labradorite. Probably the result of an alteration of a plagioclase rich in lime. Forms veins in serpentine at Frank ens tein, Silesia. săc-char-ize, v. t .
