[Gr. dys=ill, hard, ., lyō =to loose, and Eng. suff. -ite ( Min.).] Min.: A mineral of yellowish-brown or grayish brown color, a variety of Gahnite (q. v.), containing zinc, iron, and manganese. dys-lys-in, s. [Greek dys difficult, and lysis = soluble, a loosening or di olving.] Chem .: An amorphous substance, C24H3603. Obtained by decomposing choloidic or cholalic acid *dys-ō-pi-a, s. [Gr. dysõpіа . ] Med.: The same as DYSOPSY (q. v.). dys-op-sỹ, s. [ Gr.dys =bad, ill, and ops is =the sight; optomai =to see.] Med.: Dimne or weakne of sight. dys-o-rěx-i-a, děs-o-rěx-ỹ, s. [Gr. dys =bad, ill, and orexis a longing, desire; orego =to stretch out after.] Med.: A want of appetite: a bad or depre ed. appetite.
