[ The gastrolith , a discoidal stony ma , interposed between the cellular and cuticular layers of the anterior cardiac wall. Gr. γαστήρ ( γαστρ- ), stomach, + λοβός , a pod.] A genus of leguminous shrubs peculiar to western Australia, of which are occasionally [NL., cultivated in greenhouses. There are about 30 spe cies, with bright-yellow flowers and inflated pods. They are called by the settlers poison - plants, because they often prove fatal to cattle that browse upon them.
