EUGENE HENRI (1835of the 1912). Fr. Radical statesman; prime Hero minister (1885-1898); president of the 1891; Chamber (1894-98, 1906); exposed Pan. of Dreyfus case, 93), Fr. revolutionary; edit. Patriote etc. Girondists were also called Bri otins.: 74), American author; 6. New York City. He graduated at Yale in 1839, following which date he spent five years in post-graduate studies at Cambridge University, England, where he won distinction and carried off many prizes in literary competitions. Under the pseudonym of ‘Carl Benson’ he contributed to many English and American magazines, his writings being noted for their clearne , interest and flawle style. His publications include Selections from Catullus, 1849; The Upper Ten You sand, 1852; Preces of a Broken Down Critic, 1857; and The Interference Theory of Government, 1867
