Catheter

(kath'e-tër.) [Gr.] (Surg.) A tubular instrument, usually made of silver, and introduced into the bladder, in order to search for a calculus, or draw off the urine when suppre ed; also a bougie made of silver or caoutchouc. [s. 154]
