[NL., Pelodytes + -idæ .] A family of arciferous sa- lient amphibians, typified by by the genus Pelody- tes . It is characterized by maxillary teeth, dilated sacral diapophyses, the coccyx articulating with condyles of one or two sacral vertebræ, procœlian vertebræ, and the uro- style distinct. It includes, besides Pelodytes , several paleo- tropical and Australian genera. Pelogoninæ (pē-log-ō-nīnē), n . pl . [NL., Pe logonus + -inæ.] A subfamily of Galgulidæ, typified by the genus Pelogonus. Also Pelo gonida.
