NONAGE

NONAGESIMAL (Lat. nonage sim us, the ninetieth), in Astronomy, is the ninetieth degree of the ecliptic, reckoned from either of the points in which it is intersectetl by the horizon. It is therefore the highest point of the ecliptic at any instant, and its altitude is equal to the distance of the pole of the ecliptic from the zenith. The nonagesimal is used in calculating the parallaxes of the moon. [s. 841]
