In wooden and composite ve els any strake of outside-planking between the garboard and the wales. In iron and steel ships any strake of plating between the garboard and the light water-line of the ve el. See Plates 12. is & 32 A. 2 & B. 3. f) Drop-strake. — Stealer. A strake of plating or planking, not extending like other strakes from end to end of a ve el; see the garboard strake i. e: the lowermost strake of plating Plate 23, immediately above the foremost N° 2 on the keel.
