Pygmean

The Treasury of Languages · 1866 · p. 37
The people known as Mincopie belong to the most remarkable ancient race of short, small people with glo y skins, called Negrito; as the affinities of their dialects are with the languages of other short races, I propose the name Pygmean : (1) The Septentrional Pygmean includes Colebrooke’s Mincopie; in N. America, Utah , Comanche , .; in S. America, Kiriri ; in N.E. Africa, Conga , Dalla , . (2) The Austral Pygmean includes the languages of Terra del Fuego; in N. America, the Natchez and Creek ; in Australia the Tasmanian .     H. C.
