Apron

—( 1 ) a sort of loose overgarment, variously made, of fabric, leather, etc., worn to protect one’s clothes while at work; ( 2 ) the curtain or inside waist lining of trousers; ( 3 ) a sort of light drapery worn in hot countries around a hat or cap, covering the neck (see Havelock); ( 4 ) part of the regalia of certain secret societies; ( 5 ) a livery lap robe.
