[Gr. haima, and logos, a discourse.] The doctrine of the blood; the medical belief connected with the blood, and the various ideas as regards the healthy change of its constituents. Hæmatopo'didæ, n . pl . ( Zool .) A family of Grallatores birds, comprising Waders, which have the bill compre ed. The best-known species or genera are the Oyster-catcher and the Turnstone , q. v.
