[NL., Flowering Branch of Copaifera officinal is. cinalis, of Venezuela and Central America; and C. Martii and C. Guianensis, of Guiana and northern Brazil. The wood of C. Martii, known as purpleheart, is of a beautiful purple color when freshly cut, and has great strength and durability.
