[Origin uncertain.] 1. A kind of wild plum, Prunus spinosa or P. in sit it i a. [Prov. Eng.] Sosina , a sloe, a skeg , a bulleis. Florio (1611), p. 515. That kind of peaches or abricotes which bee called tuberes love better to be graffed either upon a skeg or wild plumb stocke, or quince. Holland, tr. of Pliny, xvii. 10. 2.
