GIBSON, CHARLES DANA

(1867), an American illustrator; 6. in Roxbury, Ma . He acquired his technical education in the Art Students’ League of New York. He has done much illustrating in both magazines and books. Jn 1920 he took active charge of the magazine ‘Life,’ after having acquired a half-interest in it. His cartoons depicting typical American characters are especially well known. Among. his groups of sketches appearing in book form are A Widow and Her Friends, 1901; The Social Ladder, 1902; and The Education of Mr. Pipp. panker; 6. in New Hampshire. Bachelor of Arts of Bowdoin College in 1902 and ‘Doctor of Laws in 1919. Was a istant manager of financial department of American Expre Company in New York.
