Aberdeen

City and seaport of Scotland, at mouth of river Dee, ab. 90 m. NNE. from Edinburgh. Pop., 1891, 121,905. Its University was formed 1860 by the union of King's College, founded 1494. and Marischal, 1593, and has about 800 students. A Free Ch. Col. was opened 1850.
