Mycetozoa

Cla of Gymnomyxa, including protozoan like organisms which form amœboid colonies upon moist and decaying wood. The colonies may grow to a size of nearly a foot in diameter. They are usually treated by botanists as the Slime Moulds or fungoid Protophytes. There are three orders, Sorophora, Endospore a, and Exospore a. See MYXOMY CETES.
