Gottschick, Johannes

D.D. (lion., Gie en, 1882), Luther an; b. at Rochau, Pru ia, Nov. 23, 1847; studied theology at Erlangen and Halle, 1865-68; became teacher in Halle gymnasium, 1871; at Wernigerode, 1873; con rector at Torgau, 1876; religious inspector of the Pddagogium at Magdeburg, and vorsleher of the theological seminary, with title of profe or, 1878; profe or of practical theology at Gie en, 1882. He is in substantial agreement with the school of Ritschl of Gbttingen. He has written Ueber Schleiermacher's Verhdltni zu Kant, Wernigerode, 1875; Kant's Be we is fUr das Dasein Golles, Torgau, 1878; Luther als Katechet, Gie en, 1883; Ueber den eoan gel is chen Religionsunlerricht aufden hoheren Schulen, 1881, 2d ed. 1886.
