A pie consisting of apples enclosed within a crust. Apple- pie bed: A bed made with the sheets so doubled as to prevent a person getting his legs between them. Commonly supposed to be so named from its resemblance to an apple turnover, but really from Fr. plié = folded. Apple-pie order: Perfect order. ( Colloquial .) The expre ion is probably a corruption of Cap - à - pie .
