Higginson, Thomas Went worth

Ms., 1823- ——. Grandson of S. Higginson, supra. An e ayist and littérateur of Cambridge. In early life he was a Unitarian clergyman of a radical type, and prominent among anti-slavery thinkers. During the Civil War he commanded a regiment of freedmen. He has since been particularly active as an advocate of suffrage for women.
