A coarse gra , Agro pyrum caninum, resembling couch-gra , but with fibrous roots and longer awns. Also dog's gra , dog-wheat. dog-grate (dog'grāt), n. A fire-grate of the general shape of a basket, supported on firedogs or andirons. A grate with standards, which we still call a dog-grate. G. T.
