anthologist (antholojist)

[ +-ist.] The compiler of an anthology. anthologyl (an-thol'ō-ji), n.; pl. anthologies (-jiz). [ lection, legend, etc., and cf. anthology 2.] 1. A collection of flowers; a garland. [Rare.] 2. A collection of poems, epigrams, and fugitive pieces by various authors. The name was origi. nally given to Greek collections of this nature, and is hence applied to any literary collection similarly made. 3. In the Gr.
