Sum of the exertions of all the different kinds of labor involved in making an article, with the abstinences required for saving the capital used in its produc tion. The money cost, or Expenses of Production, is the sum of the prices that have to be paid for these efforts and absti nences. Costs. Expenses of a suit allowed by the court to the succe ful litigant, counsel's fees not being included in the term.
