Arabic kamʾ ( كمء‎ ), pl. akmuʾ , kamʾah . Abū Hurairah relates that Muḥammad said: “Mushrooms are a kind of manna which God sent to Moses, and its water is a cure for sore eyes. ” ( Mishkāt , book xxi. ch. i.)
