[Eng. laurel; -ed.] Crowned or decked with laurel, or a laurel wreath. lâu-ren-çi-a, s. [From a proper name Law rence.] Bot . The typical genus of Laurenciacem (q. v.). It contains yellowish-green, purple, or pink-colored pinnated seaweeds. Lauren cia pinnatifid a is called, from its pungency, Pepper dulse. L. obtusa is sold as Corsican Mo . The two occur both in the northern and southern hemispheres.
