Durham; engaged upon A history of the organ, when he died; composer of upwards of 100 pieces of music including Drawing room melodies 1851; Melodies of the Tyne and Wear 1857; Thirteen sacred songs 1869; God save the Prince of Wales, song 1876; set to music a number of Long fellow’s poems; author of The royal modern tutor for the pianoforte 1854, copyright of which was sold for £500, 1867 and for £3000, 1879. d. suddenly at 10 Regent st.
