[Eng. athlet (e); -ism.] The same as ATHLETICISM (Q.V.). ( Webster.) Ath'-ol, Ath'-ōle, Ath'-õll, s. [Celtic.] A district in the northern part of Perth shire. Athol brose: Honey mixed with aqua vitæ, used in the Highlands as a specific for cold. Meal is sometimes substituted for honey. (Jamie son.)
